The Old Willunga Courthouse and Police station is a heritage-listed site in Willunga, South Australia, with a rich and complex history spanning immigration, law enforcement and judicial activity. For the Paranormal Down Under team, this site presented an opportunity to conduct a pre-investigation and establish and identify any subtle anomalies ahead of a full overnight investigation.
Joining us on site was a volunteer from the local council, who provided valuable insight into the buildings history and context. While the atmosphere during our visit was calm and neutral, we recorded two subtle EVPs and minor EMF activity that suggest there may be intelligent energy within the building.
Historical Background
The Old Willunga Courthouse and Police Station has been a cornerstone of Willunga since the mid-19th century:

- 1969-1970: Restoration by the National Trust of South Australia returned the building to its historical state, reoperning it as a museum preserving the original furnishings, coutroom and cell blocks.
With decades of human activity, emotional intensity and historical events, the site presents a layered environment that may hold residual energy or intelligent presences.
Pre-Investigation Setup
The pre-investigation was conducted in the morning hourse, allowing us to establish baseline readings under calm conditions. The local council volunteer guided us through the site and provided historical context, which also helped us understand the significance of different areas.

- Captured later in the courtroom immediately after the council colunteer spoke about people who had previously been at the site.
- This EVP was a faint whisper, as subtle as the first, but clearly audible upon playback.
- Minor K2 meter spikes of 0.7 mG occured around this time.
The consistent quiet nature of both EVPs, along with their timing in relation to human activity, suggests deliberate and intelligent responses rather than residual echoes or environmental noise.
